Port Shepstone
Probably the biggest and busiest administrative, industrial and commercial centre on the lower South Coast . The town is the seat of most local government offices and the site of the government hospital and health care facilities. There are excellent schools and a fine private hospital. Although blessed with long sandy beaches Port Shepstone is not primarily a holiday destination. It does, however, offer visitors many indispensable facilities including modern shopping centres, an all-suite hotel and conference centre, a thriving country club with a challenging golf course and excellent fishing.
It is also the best point of access to the spectacular ORIBI GORGE.
It's status may change markedly when the marina based development and small craft harbour, now in the planning stage, is developed.
